Associate Psychological Practitioners (APPs)

The APP’s provide a psychologically informed early intervention for patients with low level psychological need and up to 6 sessions of psychoeducational intervention. Rather than a formal psychological therapy or counselling service, we provide education around low level psychological problems and practical strategies that can support and help people manage these.

We work on the following areas with patients:

  • Low self-esteem
  • Low motivation
  • Low level depression
  • Low level anxiety
  • Coping strategies and skills
  • Sleep Hygiene
  • Stress Management
  • Bereavement

APP’s work with people that are struggling to cope with daily stressors and who would benefit from a low level of support to overcome the obstacles that they face. People will also be provided with onwards signposting to a range of other services to empower them to manage their own mental health and wellbeing.
